How it Happened
The Hawks struck first in this out-of-conference matchup. A little over three minutes into the first period, senior Steve Armstrong gave the Hawks a 1-0 advantage with his second goal of the season. The Polar Bears survived a Saint Anselm power play and evened the score at 13:03 of the first period and would score again three minutes later to make it a 2-1 game through one period.
The Polar Bears would control the rest of the contest, as they netted five goals in the remaining two periods to hand the Hawks a 7-1 loss. Saint Anselm had some quality looks during the second and third periods with 15 shots on target but were unable to chip away at the deficit for the remainder of the game.
