MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College men's ice hockey team returned to the win column with a victory against Northeast 10 Conference rival Assumption University, defeating the Greyhounds 4-2 at Sullivan Arena on Tuesday night.

How it Happened
The Hawks faced adversity in the early going, with Assumption striking first with 4:35 remaining in the first period to snag a 1-0 lead.
Saint Anselm found the equalizer in the second period, tying it up at 1-1 as sophomore Keaton Richards tallied his first collegiate goal just shy of the seven-minute mark.
Assumption would net another goal late in the frame, but Saint Anselm responded quickly, with senior captain Luke Linart scoring less than three minutes, knotting it up at 2-2 heading into the final period.
Saint Anselm came out of the tunnel focused and energized in crunch time and would snag their first lead of the night just 1:17 into the third period.
The Hawks took advantage of a brief extra attacker opportunity on a delayed penalty to set up freshman Nolan King's goal which put the Hawks up 3-2.
Sophomore Justin Tremblay provided some insurance just past the 11-minute mark by rifling a shot into the top-left corner of the net on a feed from senior Cam Collins to widen the lead to 4-2.
The Hawks stout defense, along with some clutch saves from junior goaltender Cam Carroll, would keep the two-goal lead intact for the remainder of the contest to secure a Saint Anselm victory.

The Hawks (3-7-2, 3-3-1 NE10) will look to continue their winning ways after winter break when they return to face Salem State University (2-5-1) for a non-conference matchup at home on Tuesday, Jan. 2. Puck drop is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at Sullivan Arena.
