BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Saint Anselm College men's ice hockey team dropped its first game of the Bowdoin-Colby Thanksgiving Classic to Colby College by a score of 5-1 at the Sydney J. Watson Arena on Saturday evening.
Highlights
- Senior Cam Collins kicked off the scoring for the night, netting the lone goal for the Hawks.
- Collins also took the most faceoffs for the Hawks, going 5-for-11 (45.5%) from the dot. Sophomore Brendan Manning had the highest percentage on the night, going 3-for-4 (75.0%).
- Junior goaltender Cam Carroll made 18 saves in the setback.
How it Happened
The Hawks were the first on the board in the contest, scoring just over ten minutes into the first period as senior Cam Collins put the Hawks finished a feed from sophomore Justin Tremblay. The Mules wasted no time getting even and scored the equalizer at the 11:40 mark in period one to make it a tie game.
The rest of the night belonged to Colby, as the Mules rattled off four more unanswered goals to handle the Hawks. Saint Anselm faced a slight 2-1 deficit at the end of the first period, and had a few offensive bursts in the second period, but were unable to find the back of the net.

The Hawks (2-6-2) will look to rebound as they face off against the Polar Bears of Bowdoin College (4-1-0) on Sunday, Nov. 30 for the second game of the tournament, with the puck drop scheduled for 4:00 p.m. at Jack Kelley Rink.
