NASHUA, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College men's ice hockey team played to a 4-4 stalemate with Rivier University on Tuesday night in a non-conference contest at Conway Arena.

- The Hawks won the shootout as junior Chris Cordeiro and senior Cam Collins each scored.
- Junior goaltender Cam Carroll made 24 stops in the tie.
- Saint Anselm outshot Rivier 51-28 and held the edge on faceoffs, 35-26.
- Through five all-time meetings against the Raiders, the Hawks now hold a 2-1-1 record in the series.
How it Happened
The Hawks scored first as freshman Sean Connolly scored on the power play to give the visitors a 1-0 lead 5:09 into the first period. The lead doubled with 8:05 to play as senior Luke Linart finished a one-timer out in front on a feed from Justin Tremblay. Saint Anselm's lead ballooned to three under three minutes later as sophomore Brendan Manning buried his own rebound.
The Raiders cut their deficit to two with 1:13 left before the first intermission on a shot from the point that found the back of the net.
Manning added his second of the night in the middle of the second period, tucking in a shot from the crease to make it 4-1 with 7:18 to play in the frame. Rivier tallied its second of the night to make it a two-goal game with 3:41 left in the second period, making it 4-2 going into the second intermission.
After a Rivier goal 5:19 into the third period made it 4-3, the Raiders were able to tie it up with 2.6 seconds to play as Mason Rudrud found the back of the net on the Raiders' lone power play of the evening to send the game to overtime.
Following a scoreless five minutes of three-on-three action, yielding an official 4-4 tie, the game went to a mandatory shootout, in which the Hawks came out on top.

The Hawks (2-5-2) will travel to Vacation Land for the Bowdoin-Colby Thanksgiving Classic this weekend. Saint Anselm will take on Colby College (3-1-0) on Saturday, Nov. 29 at Sidney J. Watson Arena before facing off against Bowdoin College (3-1-0) on Sunday, Nov. 30 at Jack Kelley Rink. Puck drop for both games is set for 4:00 p.m.
