GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – The Saint Anselm College women's volleyball team fell on the road, 3-0, against Adelphi University in a Northeast 10 Conference (NE10) contest at the Center for Recreation & Sport on Saturday.

- Junior Hollyn Frano led the Hawks with seven points on seven kills with an assist, and three digs.
- Freshman Peyton Elward recorded five points on three kills and a team-high two service aces.
- Freshman Mckenna O'Connell had 18 assists, an ace, and seven digs while junior Madeline Burke had eight digs to lead the Hawks, also recording one assist and an ace.
How it Happened
SET 1 | Saint Anselm scored the first point of the match, but then Adelphi scored eight of the next 10 points, leading for the remainder of the set. The Panthers won the set 25-15 with the Hawks recording just five kills on the offensive end.
SET 2 | Adelphi rattled off three straight scores to open the second frame of action, but the Hawks recovered quickly, tying things up at 6-6 with four different Hawks tallying kills. The Panthers would respond with a 10-2 run, building a 16-8 advantage, before putting the set away, 25-11.
SET 3 | Saint Anselm fell behind by five points, 9-4, early in the third, but a pair of kills from sophomore
Taylor Lacerda brought the Hawks back within one, 9-8. Another run by the Panthers made the score 14-8, but Saint Anselm continued to retaliate as senior
Melis Kocak and Frano recorded kills to pull within two points, 16-14. Adelphi closed out the match scoring nine of the next 13 points, winning the set, 25-18.

Saint Anselm women's volleyball (9-7, 1-2 NE10) will travel to Saint Michael's College (5-13, 2-2 NE10) on Tuesday, Oct. 21, for a Northeast 10 Conference matchup at the Ross Sports Center in Colchester, Vt. with the match slated to start at 6 p.m.
