How it Happened
The Hawks scored just 32 seconds into the game as Muir got by a pair of Greyhound defenders down the right sideline, making her way deep into the box as she softly chipped a shot over the goalkeeper's head and into the bottom left corner of the net for the game's opening goal.
Muir had another shot on target from the same spot in the sixth minute, but it was deflected up and out of play by Assumption's goalie, Kaylin Hebert.
Sophomore
Amarys Jimenez gave the Hawks another scoring chance in the eighth minute as she weaved her way into the box and dished a pass to freshman
Connie Patturelli, but the first-year forward had her shot blocked in the box and cleared by the Greyhounds.
Sophomore
Daniella Atherton would record the final shot on net of the first half in the 32nd minute as a sinking shot hurled its way directly at Assumption's netminder, to keep the Greyhounds within one going into the break.
Swidorski's lone save in the match came in the 52nd minute on a shot that was popped up in the box, floating down into the waiting hands of the sophomore goalie.
The Hawks added to their lead in the 68th minute as Botta dribbled around Greyhound defenders before finding Deneen, who was slashing into the box, ready to launch a right-footed shot past the dive of the Assumption goalie to make the score 2-0.
Both defenses stood tall for the remainder of the game with the scoring standing pat at 2-0.
