MANCHESTER, N.H. – Senior
David Hood recorded his sixth shutout of the season as the Saint Anselm College men's soccer team tied American International College, 0-0, at Melucci Field on Saturday.

- Hood tallied a season-high eight saves as he recorded his sixth shutout of the season, moving to 4-3-5 on the season.
- The Hawks had two shots on net in the tie, coming from freshmen Zachary Mantegari and Luke Delia.
- Saint Anselm had 16 shots in total compared to 14 for AIC, but the Yellow Jackets had nine on net compared to just two for the Hawks.
- Saint Anselm had five corner kicks compared to just one for AIC.
How it Happened
The first scoring opportunity of the game came in the 17th minute when senior
Connor Lovely made a save in the net for the Hawks after Hood came out of the box, leaving the goal open for a shot from Fernando Ramirez that rocketed off the chest of Lovely.
Hood's first save of the game came in the 24th minute on a shot from Henrique Peleja, but it was no problem for the senior goalie, as he secured the ball with two hands.
Junior
Jake McCabe checked into the game in the 23rd minute and made an immediate impact on offense, putting up a shot in the 40th minute that went just high of the net.
Delia's shot on net came in the 60th minute, but AIC goalie Javier Martinez Sola batted down his right-footed blast from outside the box for the save.
Hood safely secured a header deep into the goalie box in the 68th minute off the head of AIC's Tyler Napoletano for his fourth save of the game. Napoletano had another opportunity in the 71st minute with space in the box, but didn't get enough power on the shot as Hood easily picked it up off the grass.
Hood had a pair of saves in the 77th and 86th minutes to complete the shutout, while McCabe shot in the 85th minute careened off the post and out of play for the final scoring chance of the match for the Hawks.
