Saint Anselm Competes Strong Finishing Third at the Reggie Poyau Memorial Invitational

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Saint Anselm College men's track & field team started their 2025 campaign strong, finishing on third place in a field of 10 teams on Saturday.
 

UP NEXT: 
  • Saint Anselm will travel down to the Track at New Balance in Boston Massachusetts for the River Hawk Invitational on January 24th and January 25th.
HIGHLIGHTS:
  • Freshman Leo Sheriff (Beverly, Mass.) tabbed a time of 8.45 in the 60-meter hurdles.
  • In the 300-meter even sophomore Samuel Jones (Salem, N.H.) registered a time of 35.92.
  • In the distance realm junior Andrew Keene (Kennebunk, Maine) notched a 4:48.26 in the mile. While sophomore Adam Holodowski (Milford, N.H.), junior Christian Wetzel (Pembroke, Mass.), and freshman Michael Katsikis (Norton, Mass.) all competed in the 3000-meter. Holodowski led the way with a time of 9:25.56, followed by Wetzel grabbing a slow four seconds behind with a 9:29.84 and Katsikis rounded out the group with a time of 9:42.08.
  • In the field Mubeshire Bradshaw (Littleton, Mass.) grabbed a personal best and school record in the pole vault event with a height of 4.15 meters.
  • Junior Kyle Pierce (Jamestown, R.I.) and freshman Colin Burns (Beverly, Mass.) competed in the weight throw with Pierce notching a distance of 12.81 meters and Burns grabbing 12.38 meters.
  • In the long jump event freshman Luke Halvorsen (Darien, Conn.) registered a distance of 6.47 meters while teammate Peter Hogan (Newport, N.H.) grabbed a 6.29-meter mark.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Saint Anselm finished third of ten teams at the event, scoring 78.25 points to come out just on top of the host team Brandeis in fourth place by five points.
  • Bradshaw grabbed a personal best with his finish in pole vault, 4.15 meters, as well as setting a new standard with a school record.
