Saint Anselm Finishes Second in Opening Meet of Indoor Season

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College men's track & field team commenced the inaugural season at the Plymouth State Winter Class on Friday finishing second out of four teams.
 
UP NEXT: 
  • Saint Anselm will be back on Saturday January 18th at the Reggie Poyau Memorial Invitational in Waltham Massachusetts.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • In the men's 200 meters freshman Joseph D'Angelo (Pembroke, Mass.) led the way finishing in first place with a time of 23:04.
  • In the men's long jump event Harrison Silva (Beverly, Mass.) tabbed the first slot for Saint Anselm with a mark of 6.52m, earning the team 10 points.
  • Also earning 10 points for the Hawks was first year Logan Montgomery (Weare, N.H.) who finished in first place in the 600 meters.
  • Another first-place finish for Saint Anselm came from the men's 60m Hurdles where freshman Leo Sheriff (Beverly, Mass.) with a time of 8.71 seconds.
  • In the field Saint Anselm also found success in the high jump where freshman Peter Hogan (Newport, N.H.) tabbed a mark of 1.90m taking first place.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Saint Anselm finished second of the four teams at the event, scoring 139 points falling short of the host team who scored 193 points on the day.
