MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College softball team wraps up its regular season with a pair of Northeast-10 Conference doubleheaders from the South Athletic Fields on Thursday, Apr. 27 and Friday, Apr. 28.

The Hawks will host Southern Connecticut State University on Thursday with the first pitch in game one slated for 3 p.m. before hosting the University of New Haven on Friday, slated for a 2 p.m. start.

In between games one and two against the Chargers, Saint Anselm win honor its Class of 2023 in seniors Kylie Fitzpatrick (Danville, N.H.), Meghan Gibbons (Litchfield, N.H.), Kate Irwin (Milford, Mass.), Jess Persechino (Torrington, Conn.), Ally Shea (Franklin, Mass.), and Ava Vincequere (Shrewsbury, Mass.) with a Senior Day ceremony.

The Hawks split a conference doubleheader at Assumption University on Apr. 25, falling in game one by a 3-2 score before claiming game two, 7-2. Saint Anselm is entering the final stretch of the regular season with a 22-13-1 record and a 12-7-1 mark in conference play.

The Owls split a non-league doubleheader with Dominican (N.Y.) University to move to 13-25 overall. The team enters play on Thursday with a 7-13 record and will head to Southern New Hampshire to conclude the regular season after battling the Hawks.

The Chargers suffered a pair of losses to Bentley University on Apr. 25 which pushed the team to 15-28 on the season and 10-10 in NE10 games. The team will battle the Penmen on Thursday, Apr. 27 before coming to the South Athletic Fields.

HAWKS NOTES

• The Hawks were ranked eighth in the most recent NCAA Division II East Region rankings, which were released on Wednesday.
• Junior Gracie O'Hara (Shrewsbury, Mass.) is batting .400 on the season which leads the Saint Anselm lineup and is third highest in the NE10. 18 of O'Hara's 44 hits have gone for extra bases as she leads the team with 11 doubles and five home runs while ranking second in total hits. O'Hara is also the Hawks leader with 32 runs batted in.
• Fitzpatrick is second on the team with a batting average of .376 with sophomore Ava Caputo (Waterford, N.Y.) and Irwin ranking third and fourth at .368 and .341 respectively.
• Caputo's 46 hits this season are the most on the Saint Anselm roster. The sophomore needs 19 hits to reach 100 for her collegiate career. Caputo ranks second on the team with 30 runs batted in.
• Fitzpatrick eclipsed the 150 career hits mark in the doubleheader at Assumption. She became the 15th student-athlete in program history to reach that threshold.
• Sophomore Alyssa Wironen (Leominster, Mass.) is second on the Saint Anselm roster with four home runs this season.
• Vincequere moved to 4-0 on the season after collecting the win in her first collegiate start on Tuesday. The senior has totaled 29.2 innings pitched this season.
• Junior Haile Hicks (Jefferson, N.H.) leads the pitching staff with 21 appearances, 18 of which were starts. The junior owns a 1.30 earned-run average in 124.0 innings pitched. Hicks has fanned 151 batters through 18 complete game efforts this season.
• Hicks is second in the NE10 in ERA, third in wins (14), and sixth in strikeouts.

SCOUTING SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT STATE

• Jacqueline Dumont ranks fourth in the NE10 with a .397 batting average. Dumont leads the Owls with 46 hits, seven home runs, and 32 runs batted in this season.
• Gabriella Festa and Emily Lange own batting averages of .298 and .296 on the year. Lange is second on the roster with 37 hits while Festa is tied with Rachel Miller for fourth on the team with 25 hits. Festa and Lange are tied for the Owls lead with eight doubles each.
• Katrina Roy has appeared in 28 games for Southern Connecticut State this season. She is batting .395 with 32 hits on the season.
• Jessica Perucki has started 19 games from the circle for the Owls. She has completed 18 games and has totaled 138.2 innings pitched which is fourth in the conference. Her ERA of 1.60 is third best in the NE10.
• Emma Gorham has made 14 starts for Southern Connecticut State and owns a 5-9 record in 56.0 innings of action. Ashley Lewis has matched Gorham with 19 appearances this season and has totaled 51.2 innings of work this season.

SCOUTING NEW HAVEN

• Bella Chenet leads the Chargers with a .326 batting average, totaling 46 hits. She is also the team leader with 24 runs scored in 43 games played.
• Halle Frederick is second on the squad with a .283 average and in hits with 36. She leads the team with 20 runs batted in on the year. Maeve Lougheed is third on the team with 33 hits on the season.
• Meg Anderson and Aaliyah Amidon are tied for the Chargers lead with three home runs in 2023.
• Mia Iodice has started 20 games from the pitching circle. She is 8-11 overall with a total of 102.1 innings pitched. Iodice is the Chargers leader with 90 strikeouts.
• Selena Aponte is second on the squad with 19 starts while leading the team with 120.1 innings pitched and 14 complete game efforts.

ALL-TIME vs. SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT STATE, NEW HAVEN

• The Hawks and Owls have met 31 times in the all-time series. Southern Connecticut State is 17-14 against Saint Anselm in softball.
