Men's golf takes 11th at FPU Men's Golf Invitational

TOWNSEND, Mass. – The Saint Anselm College men's golf team wrapped up the two-day Franklin Pierce University Men's Fall Invitational in 11th place out of 16 teams. The Hawks carded a team score of 302 on Monday, shaving 11 points off their first round score from Sunday.

Senior Lucas Dascoli (Everett, Mass.) saw the biggest day two improvement for Saint Anselm, leading the Hawks with a 72 on Monday to finish with a 151. Senior Drew Semons (Danvers, Mass.) matched his first round score of 73, finishing with a two-day total of 146 to place in a four-way tie for 14th place.

Sophomore Michael Papamechail (Danvers, Mass.) shot an eight-over 78 to finish with a 158 and junior Robbie Forti (Danvers, Mass.) produced an 18-hole score of 79 on day two. Freshman Anthony Picano (Reading, Mass.) trimmed four strokes off his day one total.

Franklin Pierce posted an impressive day-two score of 279, jumping from fourth place entering the day to win the 16-team tournament. Assumption and Southern New Hampshire finished second and third, respectively.

Saint Anselm returns to action Monday, Sept. 26 at the Penmen Invitational, held at Beaver Meadow Golf Club in Concord, N.H.
