CONCORD, N.H – The final round of the Granite State Opener has been canceled due to inclement weather. The Saint Anselm College men's golf will place fifth out of nine teams in the event.

Assumption University posted a team score of 580 on day one, which will give them the first place finish. Southern New Hampshire University (581), Post University (582), and Franklin Pierce University (585) placed just ahead of the Hawks.

Matt Conti of Southern New Hampshire finished at the top of the individual leaderboard at six-under.

Senior Drew Semons (Danvers, Mass.) and sophomore Michael Papamechail (Danvers, Mass.) tied for the Hawks low scores on day one at one-under. That was good for fifth on the individual leaderboard.

Senior Lucas Dascoli (Everett, Mass.), junior Robbie Forti (Danvers, Mass.), and freshman Anthony Picano (Reading, Mass.) rounded out the remaining Saint Anselm student-athletes. Dascoli finished Monday at six-over, good for 24th overall while Forti and Picano were 12 and 14-over respectively.

The Hawks will be back in action on Sunday, Sept. 18 and Monday, Sept. 19 from the Franklin Pierce University Fall Invitational. The two-day event will be held at the Northern Spy Golf Club in Townsend, Mass.
