The Hawks dropped both contests this past weekend, falling to Stonehill on Saturday and Southern Connecticut State on Sunday. Saint Anselm is now 10-10 overall and 6-7 against Northeast-10 Conference opponents. After playing the Penmen, the Hawks conclude their four-game road trip at Assumption on Thursday, Feb. 10 before hosting Pace on Sunday, Feb. 13 at 1:30 p.m.
The Penmen are off to one of their strongest seasons in recent memory, securing a hard-fought 73-68 victory at Assumption on Saturday to move to 15-4 on the season with a 9-3 in NE10 play. The team opens a four-game road trip on Thursday, Feb. 10 at the University of New Haven.

SCOUTING SAINT ANSELM
- The Hawks were victims of a buzzer-beating jumper at Stonehill on Saturday, falling by a 61-59 score on Feb. 5 before dropping a 105-69 decision at Southern Connecticut State the next day.
- Senior Peyton Steinman (Pittsfield, Mass.) led the Hawks in scoring in both games, netting 35 total points on 10-of-19 shooting between the contests. Steinman is tied for second in the NE10 with 19.6 points per game and is ranked fourth on the team's all-time scoring list with 1,595 points.
- Sophomore Gabby Turco (Wildwood, N.J.) chipped in 22 points on 9-of-25 shooting between the contests. Turco, who is a six-time winner of the NE10 Rookie of the Week accolade, ranks second on the Hawks and sixth in the conference in scoring with 16.3 points per game. She leads all rookies in the NE10 in point scoring per game.
- The Hawks rank eighth in NCAA Division II in free throw percentage at 79.8% and also leads the NE10 in that metric. Steinman ranks 13th in the nation with 88 free throws made out of 117 attempts which is good for an 88.0% conversion rate.
- Saint Anselm is averaging a conference low of 14.0 turnovers per game. The team's free throws made per game (13.8) is second most in the conference while its free throw attempts (17.3) is third when compared to league foes.
- Freshman Melanie Hoyt (Stamford, N.Y.) has thrown up 22 blocks on the year, ranking eighth among NE10 student-athletes. She is averaging 1.16 rejections per game for the Hawks.
SCOUTING SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE
- The Penmen are currently third in the D2SIDA.com East Region Poll and are receiving votes in the WBCA National Coaches' Poll. The team fell to Pace, the No. 22-ranked team in the country, on Jan. 29 and have won three consecutive games since then.
- Meg Knollmeyer, a graduate transfer, led the Penmen offense with 16 points in the team's 73-68 win over Assumption on Feb. 5. Karlee Ziliak, Gyanna Russell, and Adriana Timberlake all chipped in double-digit point totals in the win.
- Russell is averaging 14.2 points per game while Knollmeyer, Timberlake, and Ziliak are all averaging over 10 points per game.
- Knollmeyer, who is second on the squad with 13.2 points per game, is averaging a double-double on the season with 12.8 rebounds per game. Her rebounds per game leads the NE10 and her 50.8% field goal percentage is second in the league.
- The Penmen lead the conference with an average of 72.8 points per game. Southern New Hampshire also leads the NE10 in three-point percentage (33.1%) and defensive rebounds per game (30.3). The team is second in assists per game (15.3), rebounds per game (42.5), and field goal percentage (42.0%).
- Southern New Hampshire is the current second seed in the Northeast Division standings, trailing Bentley (10-3).
- The Penmen are in search of their first NCAA Division II postseason appearance since the 1989-90 campaign - the Hawks bounced Southern New Hampshire from the tournament that year, claiming an 86-73 victory in a game played at Bentley.
ALL-TIME vs. SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE
- This will be the 71st meeting in the all-time series. Saint Anselm owns a 50-20 record against Southern New Hampshire.
- Earlier this season, the Penmen captured a 72-64 win from Stoutenburgh Gymnasium on Nov. 23. Timberlake led all players with 20 points while Turco led Saint Anselm with 15 points.
- That win snapped a seven-game win streak for the Hawks in the series. Dating back to Feb. 5, 2014, Saint Anselm is 10-2 against Southern New Hampshire.
