Men's golf places seventh in NE10 Championship

ENDICOTT, N.Y. – The Saint Anselm College men's golf team placed seventh in Northeast-10 Conference Championship, played at the En-Joie Golf Club in Endicott, N.Y.

The teams played 36 holes on Oct. 2 before completing the 54-hole tournament on Monday, Oct. 3.

Saint Anselm posted a team score of 310 on Monday, bringing their total score for the event to 930 which places the Hawks in seventh out of 11 programs.

Assumption overcame a five-shot deficit to capture its second consecutive NE10 Championship. The Greyhounds closed round three at one-over with a team score of 289, concluding the event at 885 strokes. Southern New Hampshire placed second, totaling 889 strokes, while Le Moyne finished third at 893.

Le Moyne's Tyler Birdd captured the individual crown as he closed the conference championship at two-under, totaling 214 strokes.

The Hawks will conclude their fall schedule at the Post Eagles Invitational on Monday, Oct. 10 and Tuesday, Oct. 11 from the Watertown Golf Club in Watertown, Conn.

Senior Lucas Dascoli (Everett, Mass.) carded an even-par 72 on Monday with four birdies, four bogeys, and 10 pars. Dascoli closed the event at 13-over which was good for 22nd on the leaderboard and as the top Saint Anselm performer.

Senior Drew Semons (Danvers, Mass.) posted a five-over 77 in the third round which closes his NE10 Championship in a tie for 25th. Semons finished the 54-hole event at 15-over par.

Sophomore Michael Papamechail (Danvers, Mass.) finished third for Saint Anselm with an eight-over 80 on Monday, finishing in a tie for 31st on the individual leaderboard. Papamechail posted a total score of 234.

Junior Robbie Forti (Danvers, Mass.) carded a nine-over 81 in the final round of the conference championship, bringing his total to 236 which was good for a 37th place finish. Freshman Anthony Picano (Reading, Mass.) turned in an 83 on Monday to bring his total for the Championship to 253, good for a 48th place finish.
