Men's golf concludes fall semester with an 11th place finish at Post Eagles Invite

WATERTOWN, Conn. – The Saint Anselm College men's golf concluded its fall season with an 11th place finish in the Post Eagles Invitational.

Saint Anselm totaled 910 strokes across the 54-hole tournament from the Watertown Golf Club in Watertown, Conn. The Hawks concluded play on Tuesday with a team total of 304, combining with a 301 and a 305 from Monday's rounds to finish at 58-over par.

Post University and Le Moyne College tied for the top spot on the team leaderboard at 24-over par, which is a total of 876 strokes. The Dolphins made up seven strokes on the Eagles to draw even in the event. Saint Thomas Aquinas College grabbed third in the event at 32-over par.

Nicholas Bove of Le Moyne captured the individual medalist honors as he turned in a three-under 68 on Tuesday, to pair with a 69 and a 72, finishing at four-under for the tournament.

Saint Anselm ranked fifth as a team with a total of 32 birdies in the event. Saint Anselm was also sixth in scoring average for the par-threes at 3.45 strokes per hole and played the par-fives at six-under, averaging 4.67 strokes on those holes, which was good for seventh.

Senior Drew Semons (Danvers, Mass.) led the Hawks in round three and for the event, carding a three-over 74 on Tuesday. The senior completed the 54-hole event at seven-over par which is good for 15th on the leaderboard. Semons was tied for second in the field with 12 total birdies.

Sophomore Michael Papamechail (Danvers, Mass.) turned in a four-over 75 on Tuesday which was second best on the squad on the day. He closed the invitational at 233 strokes, good a tie for 45th at 20-over.

Junior Robbie Forti (Danvers, Mass.) finished in a tie for 38th after posting a 77 in rounds three, bringing his three round total to 231. Forti was second on the Hawks in par-five scoring, playing through them at four-under.

Senior Lucas Dascoli (Everett, Mass.) closed the tournament in second for Saint Anselm and in a tie for 24th against the field. The senior turned in a 78 on Tuesday which brought his total to 226 for 54 holes. He led the Hawks in par-five scoring at five-under which was tied for second in the tournament. Dascoli also led Saint Anselm in total pars with 33.

Freshman Anthony Picano (Reading, Mass.) added a nine-over 80 in round three to finish the Post Eagles Invite in a tie for 67th, totaling 241 strokes. Picano was second on the team in total pars with 32.

The Hawks will return to play in the spring semester.
