Men's lacrosse earns first NCAA Division II postseason berth

MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College men's lacrosse team has earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Division II Men's Lacrosse Championship for the first time in program history. Ranked nationally, the Hawks will face Seton Hill in First Round action this Friday, May 14 at 4 p.m. on the campus of Mercyhurst University.

The Hawks, ranked ninth in NCAA Division II by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association, will be seeded fifth in the upcoming NCAA postseason and own a 12-1 overall record. Sunday evening's announcement, made via the NCAA.com Selection Show, marks the first time since the program's inception in 1994 that Saint Anselm will compete in NCAA postseason play.

The Hawks had their program-record winning streak of 15 games snapped on Saturday, falling to No. 1-ranked Le Moyne in the team's second NE10 Championship game appearance since 2018. Saint Anselm won the NE10's Northeast Division Regular Season Championship with a 10-0 record and enters Friday's game ranked first in NCAA Division II in scoring defense (5.77).

Saint Anselm is set to take on No. 5-ranked Seton Hill, who earned the fourth seed in the upcoming NCAA tournament. The Griffins own an 11-2 record and have made the NCAA postseason for the third consecutive season and the fourth time in school history – Seton Hill fell to Mercyhurst in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championship game on Saturday.
