Men's Lacrosse Lands Five on USA Lacrosse All-American List

SPARKS GLENCOE, MD – Saint Anselm men's lacrosse had three student-athletes earn spots on the USA Lacrosse All-American teams, with two others named as honorable mentions. Senior Will Andrews (Cumberland, R.I.) earned a spot on the second team with junior Colby Goodchild (Reading, Mass.) and sophomore Finn Granara (Reading, Mass.) earning spots on the third team. Freshman Matt Lemay (Westminster, Mass.) and junior Quinn Gannon (Scituate, Mass.) each were named as honorable mentions. 

Andrews, also a Northeast 10 (NE-10) and New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) first team member, has been one of the best midfielders in college lacrosse this season. He finished third on the team with 24 goals this season, adding six assists for 30 total points, all career-highs. Four of his goals were game-winners, the second-highest mark on the team, he also scooped up 15 ground balls. In his career he has scored 52 goals, assisting on 16 others, for a total of 68 points. He set a single-game career best this season with four goals and an assist in a 15-12 win over Pace. 

Goodchild was also a member of the first teams in the NE10 and NEILA. He totaled 29 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers during the season, adding eight ground balls and four caused turnovers across three NCAA postseason games. Against Bentley in the NCAA tournament, he scored his first career goal.

Granara, a second team NE10 and first team NEILA goalie, has been critical for the Hawks this season. Granara's 8.09 goals-against average is the third-lowest single-season mark in program history. He's won 13 of his 15 starts—tying the program's single-season win record held by CJ Hart '22. He has made 138 saves this season, good for an average of 9.2 a game. He holds a save percentage of .543, the fourth best mark in the NE10 among players with at least ten games in goal. 

Lemay, the NE10 Co-Rookie of the Year and NEILA first team member, had about as good a first season as possible. He ended with a team-high in goals (41) and points (55), also adding 14 assists this season. He also finished fifth in the NE10 with 2.56 goals per game. Lemay has recorded at least one point in each of his first 15 career games and ended the season on a streak of eight straight games of three or more points. He recorded nine hat tricks this season, with two or more goals in 14 straight games. 

Gannon, a second team selection in the NE10 and NEILA, has been one of the premier face off specialists in the division this season. Ending the season with 169 wins on 264 attempts for an insane faceoff win percentage of 64%, the second-best mark in team history. He was 50% or better in all but one game this season, including finishing 60% or better in nine games. Gannon also led the team with 112 ground balls, matching Craig Yannone 24' to tie for the most ever in a single season in program history. Offensively, Gannon also scored two goals with two assists this season.
