LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Senior Morgan Perry (Bethany, Conn.) of the nationally-ranked Saint Anselm College softball team was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) First Team All-America roster on Tuesday.

Perry becomes a two-time All-America pick, earning Second Team distinction in 2019. She is the first in Saint Anselm history to earn First Team All-America honors from the NFCA and is just one of 54 All-America honorees across NCAA Division II in 2021.

A two-time D2CCA East Region Pitcher of the Year, Perry leads the Northeast-10 Conference with an 0.63 earned-run average and a dominant 19-1 record. Logging 18 complete games, Perry has fired 12 shutouts, registered two no-hitters and tallied the program's first-ever perfect game, doing so as a senior. She leads all NCAA Division II pitchers by averaging 12.2 strikeouts per seven innings, ranking in the top-10 nationally with 215 strikeouts. Additionally, Perry's mark of 3.81 hits allowed per seven innings is ranked fourth nationally.

Perry's 0.63 earned run average is currently the third best mark in all of Division II with her teammate, sophomore McKenna Smith (Old Town, Maine), one spot below her with a 0.67 average. Saint Anselm pitchers have combined to post a nation-leading 0.77 team earned-run average heading into the eight-team NCAA Division II National Championship starting Thursday in Denver, Colo.

With a complete game against No. 22 Georgian Court on Friday, Perry broke the program's all-time record with 77, surpassing Lori Cillo '94. In 11 of her last 13 games pitched, she has surrendered four or less hits to her opponents while only allowing seven total runs in that span. Earlier in the season, Perry broke the program's single-season shutouts record with 12, passing Lisa Petell '99 who achieved the feat in 1996. In her career, she is the owner of all-time program records in innings pitched (689), strikeouts (769), wins (86), appearances (119), games started (111), complete games (78), and shutouts (37).

Earlier this season, Perry threw a no-hitter and a perfect game against Saint Michael's – the perfect game is thought to be the first in team history.

In the NE10 Tournament, Perry yielded just three runs and struck out 27 batters to help Saint Anselm win its second NE10 postseason championship. Due to her effort in that tournament, Perry was named to the All-Tournament Team shortly after earning NE10 Northeast Division Pitcher of the Year.

Following her team's solid all-around performance in the NE10 title series, Saint Anselm earned the second seed in the East Regional and Perry threw three complete games, allowing just four runs and 17 hits. Winning the team's second NCAA Division II East Region Championship (2018, 2021) on Saturday, Perry and the Hawks head to the NCAA Division II National Championship where they will face West Chester in the opening game on Thursday.

Perry is also a top-15 finalist for the NFCA Player and Pitcher of the Year with the winner announced on Thursday, June 3. She also earned a spot on the NFCA All-East First Team, claiming her third all-region selection to tie Petell with the most First Team honors in a single Hawks career.

She was a key member of the 2018 squad that finished as the national runner-up in NCAA Division II, falling to the eventual champions from Southern Indiana in a three-game series. Saint Anselm finished with a 41-10 record in 2019 and Perry's efforts have helped Saint Anselm produce a 133-32-1 (.804) record in the last four years.
