MANCHESTER, N.H. – The nationally-ranked Saint Anselm College softball team will switch sites for its Sunday, Apr. 18 doubleheader against Franklin Pierce University and host the two games at the South Athletic Fields.
Due to the snow, the Hawks and Ravens' matchup scheduled for Saturday, Apr. 17 has been postponed and will be rescheduled for a later date in the season.
Saint Anselm is fresh off a convincing doubleheader sweep over Assumption University. The Ravens will be playing their first game as the home team since Mar. 27, 2021 when it claimed two wins over Bentley.
The Hawks head into the contest knowing that the NCAA Division II East Region Championship will be hosted at their own field. Earlier this week, the Hawks moved up to No. 14 in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division II Poll.
Students, faculty and staff enrolled or employed by Saint Anselm College will be permitted to attend Sunday's contests after presenting a valid College ID. Outside spectators will not be permitted entry. Check out the
spectator policy for more information. Live Stats and Live Video are available for each of the contests by clicking

SCOUTING THE HAWKS
- Saint Anselm is riding a four-game winning streak after recently sweeping doubleheaders against Assumption and Southern New Hampshire. The Hawks own a 44-5 (.898) record when playing at home since the 2018 season.
- Crunch time is approaching for the Hawks as Saint Anselm has three more four-game series weekends to complete before the NE10 postseason begins in early May.
- Last time out, the Hawks completed the season sweep over Assumption, winning both games by scores of 4-2 and 7-1. In game one, the Hawks took control early with a 3-0 edge, led by a two-run single by senior Lauren Washburn (Carmichael, Calif.). Senior pitcher Morgan Perry (Bethany, Conn.) locked down the victory with 11 strikeouts, improving to 8-0 on the season.
- Saint Anselm scored seven runs to begin game two, easing its way to victory. The offense did its part with seven Hawks student-athletes contributing with one or more hits. Senior Kat Stackrow (Wynantskill, N.Y.) led the squad with a career-high three hits.
- Through Thursday's games, the Hawks own the best earned-run average in the nation with a 0.73 mark, highlighted by sophomore McKenna Smith (Old Town, Maine)'s 0.49, which leads the Northeast-10 Conference and is fourth in the nation. Her teammate, Perry, is right behind her with a 0.52 earned run average, one spot away from Smith. Perry also ranks second in the NE10 in complete games with eight. Perry still holds the top spot in the nation's strikeouts per seven innings category with an average of 13.6.
- After a seven-inning performance against Assumption, senior Courtney Fisher (Taunton, Mass.) has posted a 1.57 earned run average, a few spots lower than her teammates in seventh in the conference. Fisher allowed four hits and one run against the Greyhounds in game two.
- The Hawks, as a team, lead the NE10 in home runs with nine.
- Senior Shannon Colson (Rochester, N.H.) is three hits away from reaching second place on the all-time hits list after earning two hits over the week. She also needs one more run scored to tie for third place on the all-time runs list with Annamaria (Addonizio) Spiriti '97 with 110, which is also 21 away from the program leader Kathleen Caringi '99 with 131.
- Freshman Gracie O'Hara (Shrewsbury, Mass.) has made an instant impact in the Hawks recent success this season, posting 12 hits and 12 runs scored, hitting three doubles, one triple, and two home runs, while also driving in seven runs. Against Assumption in game one, she posted a career-high three hits.
PREVIEWING THE RAVENS
- The Ravens head into the weekend after splitting a four-game series against Assumption in the first week of April. Franklin Pierce won 9-3 and 3-2 on Saturday, Apr. 3 before falling 2-1 in both games on Monday, Apr. 5. That was the Ravens' last appearance on the field in the month of April.
- Six student-athletes from Franklin Pierce own a batting average of .309 or higher, including Gina Hinckley's mark of .407. She has recorded 11 hits with four home runs and 12 runs batted in. Ashley Cangiano leads the team in hits with 13.
- In 2021, the Ravens have recorded 10 or more hits in a single game four times with their highest mark on the season at Saint Michael's on Mar. 20.
- In the circle, Franklin Pierce has recorded a 1.64 earned-run average over six pitchers as Amelia Mamone leading the pitching staff with a 0.58 mark and a 1-0 record. ALL-TIME vs. FRANKLIN PIERCE
- Since 2004, the Hawks hold a 33-7 advantage, claiming nine straight wins against the in-state rival. On home turf, Saint Anselm is 14-4 in its last 18 contests while the Hawks are 9-1 in their previous 10 matchups against the Ravens.
- Saint Anselm recorded a 7-0 victory on Apr. 11, 2019, the last time that both programs met. In the game, the Hawks pushed across four runs in the bottom of the first inning, never looking back after that point.
