GOFFSTOWN, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College women's tennis team will take on Southern New Hampshire University on Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. in the Allard Center.
The Hawks are in search of their first victory of the 2021 season while Southern New Hampshire has jumped out to a 3-1 start. Saint Anselm was blanked by the Penmen, 4-0, in the season opener on Sunday, Mar. 14.
No spectators of any kind will be allowed entrance at the Allard Center.
SCOUTING SAINT ANSELM
- Last time out against Franklin Pierce, the Ravens eased their way into an early 1-0 lead, sweeping all three doubles matches. Both the second and third Hawks doubles battled to the closest result, falling by a 6-1 score to their respective doubles opponents from Franklin Pierce.
- Playing only to decision, Franklin Pierce earned three quick singles victories to end the match. The Ravens clinched the victory with a 6-1, 6-0 win at each of the No. 4, 5, and 6 singles.
- Senior Dominique Bolduc (Manchester, N.H.) and sophomore Anastasia Kapothanasis (Westbrook, Maine) have their team's only two individual wins of the season, with the latter locking up a No. 2 singles win against Bentley and Bolduc capturing a win at the fourth singles flight against the Falcons.
- The next five matches for Saint Anselm will be on the road. The final regular season match will be played on campus Saturday, Apr. 24 at 1 p.m. against Saint Michael's.
PREVIEWING THE PENMEN
- A perennial power in women's tennis, Southern New Hampshire won three matches in a row to open the season before losing to Franklin Pierce, 5-2, on Wednesday.
- Southern New Hampshire had opened their season winning their matches by a combined 18-0 score before the setback to the Ravens.
- Magdalena Hubickova and Alexxa Etienne remain undefeated (4-0) in No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively. The two have partnered at No. 1 doubles as well, sprinting out to a 3-1 record to date.
- Hubickova was named NE10 Player of the Week on Mar. 23.

- After winning the first four matches in the all-time series against the Penmen, Southern New Hampshire has won its last 17 matches over Saint Anselm.
