PREVIEWING THE HAWKS
- Last time out, Saint Anselm recorded a 2-0 shutout of Mercy (N.Y.) on Saturday. The Hawks have now won via shutout in 25 games dating back to the start of the 2019 season.
- Saint Anselm is ranked second in NCAA Division II in shutouts per game (0.42), fifth in goals-against average (0.99), sixth in scoring margin (1.82), sixth in shot percentage (0.185), seventh in save percentage (0.812) and eighth in goals per game (2.83).
- The Hawks fired 24 shots in the contest and a stout Saint Anselm defense conceded just one opposing shot – backstop Mackenzie McConnell (Concord Township, Maine) was there on the shot attempt, making her lone save of the game in her fifth shutout of the season.
- McConnell leads NCAA Division II with an 0.62 goals-against average and an .878 save percentage.
- With what proved to be the game-winning goal in the game's 33rd minute, senior Carly LaCasse (Sagamore Beach, Mass.) moves into a tie for sixth place all-time on the career points leaderboard for Saint Anselm, scoring 25 goals with eight assists for 58 points (25-8=58). LaCasse is tied with Allia Connolly '18 and her 24 goals and 10 assists (24-10=58).
- Junior Avery Tucker (Westbrook, Maine) netted her second goal of the season in the fourth quarter, adding insurance off another penalty corner chance for the Hawks. Junior Joanna Archambault (Andover, Mass.) injected the penalty corner right to Tucker, who moved slightly to her right and sent a booming blast that eluded the lunging Mercy netminder for the team's second goal of the contest.
- The NCAA Division II runner-up team in 2019, Saint Anselm has sprinted out to a 9-3 record so far this season with an unblemished record at home (6-0). The Hawks own a 56-6 record when playing at Grappone Stadium since the start of the 2015 season.
