CONCORD, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College men's golf team finished third at the Penmen Fall Invitational on Tuesday at Concord Country Club.
Originally scheduled as a two-day, 36-hole tournament, Monday's opening round was canceled due to rain, shortening the event to a single 18-hole tournament. The Hawks carded an eight-over 288 on the par-70 course to finish third, three strokes behind host Southern New Hampshire, which won the tournament at five-over. Bentley University placed second at seven-over.
How it Happened
- Senior Brady Warren led the Hawks with a one-over 71 to finish tied for sixth individually. Warren made the turn at one-over after carding a 35 on the front nine before playing the back nine at even-par 36.
- Freshman Joey DaCosta finished tied for 10th after firing a two-over 72. After making the turn at five-over, DaCosta closed with a three-under 33 on the back nine. He recorded three consecutive birdies on holes 15 through 17, including a birdie on the par-three 16th.
- Junior Jack Murray also tied for 10th at two-over with a 72. Murray opened with an even-par 35 on the front nine, highlighted by back-to-back birdies on the second and third holes. He added another birdie on the par-four 13th.
- Junior Brandon Vitarisi carded a three-over 73 to finish tied for 13th. Vitarisi recorded three birdies during his round.
- Sophomore Carter Browning rounded out the Saint Anselm lineup with a five-over 75, tying for 22nd. Browning played the front nine at one-over 36 before recording two birdies on the back nine.
