Field Hockey Picked Second in 2026 NE10 Coaches’ Poll

NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. – The Saint Anselm College field hockey team has been selected to finish second in the Northeast 10 Conference, according to the 2026 NE10 Field Hockey Coaches' Poll, announced Tuesday afternoon.

The Hawks received 67 points and one first-place vote in the preseason poll, finishing behind Assumption University, which collected 78 points and seven first-place votes. Adelphi University received the remaining two first-place votes and was picked fourth with 61 points.

Saint Anselm enters the 2026 campaign following another historic season under head coach Carolyn King-Robitaille and assistant coach Emma Mawn, who were named the National Field Hockey Coaches Association's East Region Coaching Staff of the Year for the second consecutive season.

The nationally-ranked Hawks returned to the NCAA Division II Tournament for the fourth consecutive season and the eighth time in the King-Robitaille era after defeating Bentley University by a 3-2 final score in double overtime of the Northeast 10 Championship. The conference championship victory capped an eight-game winning streak for Saint Anselm.

Saint Anselm finished the 2025 season with a 16-6 overall record, including a 10-2 mark against NE10 competition, and was ranked eighth nationally in the final Penn Monto/NFHCA Division II National Coaches Poll.

Junior Meghan Carey returns to the squad after earning NFHCA First Team All-East Region accolades in 2025. Laurentien van den Akker and Mackenzie Wehrum, Second Team All-Region selections last season, also return for their senior campaigns in 2026.

Assumption led the 10-team preseason poll with 78 points, followed by Saint Anselm (67), Bentley (63), Adelphi (61), Southern New Hampshire (50), Pace (42), Southern Connecticut State (34), Franklin Pierce (28), Saint Michael's (17) and American International (10).

The Hawks open the 2026 season on Saturday, September 5 against Molloy University at Grappone Stadium at 11 a.m.
