How it Happened

After both sides traded goals to start the contest, the Penmen struck for two consecutive goals to take a 4-2 lead with 4:03 remaining in the first quarter. The Hawks responded with two tallies of their own to close the quarter tied at 4-4 as part of a seven-goal spurt.

Saint Anselm's seven consecutive goals came over an 11:49 span and was capped off by a natural hat trick by McDermod, giving the Hawks a 9-4 cushion with 6:18 left in the opening half.

The Penmen cut the deficit to four goals with 2:19 to play on an unassisted goal before Fruci capped the first half with her second goal coming with 48 seconds left to regain the Hawks' five-goal edge at the break.

SNHU scored the second half's first two goals to make it 10-7 before Saint Anselm's offense exploded for five consecutive goals to put them up 15-7 with 13:01 remaining in regulation.

After one additional Penmen tally, the Hawks would close the game with five unanswered goals to secure their second straight victory.
