MANCHESTER, N.H. – The second-seeded Saint Anselm College men's lacrosse team fell to the No. 3 seed, Pace University, by a final score of 8-7 in the Northeast 10 Conference Championship Semifinals on Wednesday evening at Grappone Stadium.

How it Happened
Saint Anselm struck first midway through the opening period when Lemay finished a feed from Lucas. Pace answered less than two minutes later on an unassisted goal from Jake Cenci, but the Hawks regained the lead at 1:32 as Boyle found the back of the net. That 2-1 edge held through the end of the first.
The Hawks extended their lead early in the second quarter, getting goals from Dean and Weller to go up 4-1. Pace began to chip away before halftime, however, as Zach Goetze scored to make it 4-2 heading into the break.
After Burns and Weller pushed Saint Anselm's lead to 6-2 on back-to-back scores in the opening 1:39 into the second half, Pace erupted for four straight goals in a span of just over five minutes. Will Danowski, Goetze, Declan Landers, and Cenci all scored during the run, tying the game at 6-6 by the nine-minute mark of the third quarter.
Pace carried that momentum into the fourth quarter, taking its first lead since early in the game on another goal from Danowski at 11:53. Goetze added an insurance marker later in the period to make it 8-6 in favor of the Setters. Saint Anselm made one final push, getting a late unassisted goal from Alberti with 3:21 remaining, but Pace held on down the stretch to secure the 8-7 win.
