MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College baseball team swept day one's doubleheader of a Northeast 10 Conference series against Franklin Pierce University on Sunday at Sullivan Park, powered by multiple home run performances.
Game 1 – Saint Anselm 21 (16-15, 14-9 NE10), Franklin Pierce 3 (9-23, 7-17 NE10)

How it Happened
The Hawks were off to an electric start in the first inning, recording six runs. Slauson opened the scoring with a sacrifice fly to bring home Kaluza, followed by an RBI single from Gonzalez.
Freshman Dylan Ruff added an RBI double down the left field line, and Rigney capped the inning with a base-clearing double to left-center, making it 6-0 after one.
The Hawks kept the pressure on in the second inning, extending their lead to nine with a two RBI single from Slauson before Rigney added another run after being hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.
Franklin Pierce answered back in the fourth, stringing together three runs on three consecutive plays to cut into the deficit to six, 9-3.
Saint Anselm regained momentum in the fifth, capitalizing on patience at the plate with back-to-back walks from Powers and Slauson with the bases loaded, followed by an RBI fielder's choice from Gonzalez, to push the lead back to nine runs.
The Hawks broke the game open in the sixth, taking advantage of defensive miscues to bring in two runs before a sacrifice fly from Bourdeau added another, making it 15-3. Powers and Slauson followed with back-to-back home runs to extend the Saint Anselm advantage to 14 runs.
In the seventh, Kaluza drove in a run with a single before Bourdeau sealed the scoring with a three-run homer to left, capping off a dominant offensive performance for the Hawks.
Game 2 - Saint Anselm 12 (17-15, 15-9 NE10), Franklin Pierce 6 (9-24, 7-18 NE10)

How it Happened
The Hawks wasted no time jumping ahead, putting together a strong first inning to take an early lead. Bourdeau got things started with an RBI double to right-center, bringing home Kaluza, before Slauson followed with an RBI single up the middle to make it 2-0.
Saint Anselm built on that momentum in the second inning with a big offensive surge. Rigney knocked in a run with a single to third, and Bourdeau struck again with a two-RBI double to extend the lead. Slauson then delivered the biggest blow of the inning, launching a two-run homer to center field to give the Hawks a commanding advantage.
The Hawks continued to apply pressure in the third, adding another run on a sacrifice fly from junior Owen McCarron to stretch the lead further.
The Ravens responded in the fifth inning, rallying with a two-RBI double followed by a two-run home run to cut into the deficit, making the score 4-8.
Saint Anselm answered right back in the bottom half of the inning, taking advantage of a defensive error. McCarron drove in a run with a double and later scored on a groundout by Rigney, both unearned, to keep the Hawks in control heading into the sixth.
Franklin Pierce made another push in the sixth with a two-RBI single, but the Hawks quickly countered. Sophomore Peter Fischer drew an RBI hit-by-pitch, and Ruff added another run on a fielder's choice to cap the scoring and secure the 12-6 victory.
