MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College softball team fell in a pair of Northeast 10 Conference games against Southern New Hampshire University, 7-0 and 7-2, at the South Athletic Fields on Thursday.
Game 1: Southern N.H. 7 (19-16, 11-10 NE10), Saint Anselm 0 (18-19, 10-11 NE10)

- Junior Kendra Lee fell to 8-8 in the circle, allowing seven runs (five earned) over five innings with two strikeouts.
- Junior Caitlyn Duquette led the Hawks offensively, going 3-4 with a double.

How it Happened
After a scoreless opening inning, Southern New Hampshire broke through in the second, capitalizing on defensive miscues to score three runs and take an early 3-0 lead.
The Penmen added to their advantage in the fifth, stringing together three hits before Abby Lineman delivered a three-run home run to push the lead to 7-0.
Saint Anselm threatened in the first inning, loading the bases, and again in the fifth with runners on second and third, but could not come up with the timely hit.
Despite putting runners on in multiple innings, the Hawks were unable to break through as Southern New Hampshire's Julianna Colbert closed out the complete-game shutout to secure the win.
Game 2: Southern N.H. 7 (20-16, 12-10 NE10), Saint Anselm 2 (18-20, 10-12 NE10)

- Saint Anselm falls 30-36 all-time against Southern New Hampshire, splitting this year's regular season series, 2-2.
- Salafia falls to 2-7 after allowing five runs (four earned) over 1.2 innings.
- Junior Mackenzie Bergen entered the circle in the second inning, going 5.1 innings in relief as she allowed eight hits and two runs with one strikeout.
- Duquette went 2-4 with a triple and one run batted in.
- Reitmeyer finished 2-4 with a double.

- Cipriani added a double, and junior Madeline Trisket recorded a hit, stole a base, and scored a run.
How it Happened
Southern New Hampshire jumped out to an early lead, scoring two runs in the first inning before adding three more in the second to take a 5-0 advantage.
The Penmen extended their lead to 6-0 in the fourth on a wild pitch, keeping pressure on the Hawks through the middle innings.
Saint Anselm broke through in the fifth, as Trisket singled and stole second before Tardugno drove her in with a triple. Later in the inning, Duquette brought home Tardugno with an RBI single to cut the deficit to 6-2.
Southern New Hampshire added an insurance run in the seventh on a solo home run, while the Hawks put a runner in scoring position in the bottom half but could not add on as the Penmen secured the 7-2 win.
