NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Saint Anselm College women's soccer senior defender Hailee Pickles has been named the Northeast 10 Conference Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday.
Pickles helped lead the Hawks to a pair of conference victories last week, including a 2-1 comeback win over crosstown rival Southern New Hampshire on Tuesday and a 1-0 shutout victory over Adelphi on Saturday.
The Methuen, Massachusetts native scored her first collegiate goal and the game-winner in the 78th minute against Southern New Hampshire, heading home a corner kick from junior Amarys Jimenez to secure the victory. Pickles also played all 90 minutes against Adelphi, helping the Hawks record their third consecutive win and a shutout.
Pickles and the Hawks returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 28, hosting Saint Michael's in Northeast 10 Conference play at 3 p.m. for their regular season finale.
