SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. — The Saint Anselm College men's ice hockey team rallied late from a two-goal deficit in the third period to secure a 4-3 victory over Saint Michael's College in Northeast 10 Conference action on Saturday afternoon at Cairns Arena.

How it Happened
Saint Michael's struck early with a fast start, as Roman Winicki opened the scoring just 1:24 into the opening period. The Purple Knights carried that 1-0 lead into the second, and late in the middle frame Connolly tied the game at 1-1 with a power play goal at 12:08.
In the third period, Saint Michael's seized momentum again, scoring twice within the opening five minutes of the frame. Ian Wolanin and Quinn McCarthy each recorded goals to push the Purple Knights' advantage to 3-1.
Cordeiro got the Hawks' comeback started at 18:42, cutting the deficit to one, scoring on a wrist shot from the wall. Just 13 seconds later, Linart knotted the score at 3-3 with an extra-attacker goal, burying a second-chance opportunity out in front.
With only 44 seconds remaining, Kelly delivered the game-winner, finishing off a feed from classmate Brendan Manning, completing the comeback.

Saint Anselm (7-10-4, 6-4-2 NE10) will continue conference play on home ice beginning on Friday, Jan. 30 as the Hawks will host cross-town rival Southern New Hampshire University (7-10-1, 3-8-1 NE10) in the first of a two-game series. Puck drop is slated for 4:00 p.m. from Sullivan Arena.
