Hawks Dominate at Panther Invite

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College men's and women's track and field teams competed in the Panther Invite, hosted by Plymouth State University on Saturday afternoon. 

Both squads earned team victories, as the men's team finished first out of 11 teams with 183.66 points, and the women's team claimed first place out of eight teams with 215 points.

Men's Track Events
  • Sophomore Michael Katsikis finished 12th at 16:39.00 in the 5000-meter race, followed by senior Brandon LeBlanc, who finished 13th and set a personal best at 16:50.12. 
  • Sophomore Leo Sheriff finished in first place and set a personal best in the 60-meter hurdles at 8.24, entering the Division II national rankings at No. 42 in the country. 
  • Freshman Gavin Lombara finished just behind Sheriff while also setting a personal best in the 60-meter hurdles at 8.27, entering the Division II national rankings at No. 50 in the country.
  • Sophomore Joseph D'Angelo was the top finisher for the Hawks in the 60-meter race, finishing in third place at 7.12. Followed by freshman Trevor Hunter finishing in fourth at 7.24 and Sherriff finishing in seventh at 7.36.
  • Senior Christian Wetzel finished second in the 1-mile race and set a personal best of 4:32.90.
  • Sophomore Daniel Leet was the top finisher for the Hawks in the 400-meter race and set a personal best of 51.02. Followed by sophomore Hunter Beaudoin, who finished in second place at 51.25. 
  • D'Angelo finished in third place in the 60-meter race at 7.12, followed by Hunter in fourth place at 7.24, and Sheriff in seventh at 7.36.
  • Freshman Gavin Carey finished in seventh place in the 800-meter race at 2:07.42, followed by junior Clifford Teixeira, who finished in 11th place at 2:12.89, and junior Neil Harrington, who finished in 13th place at 2:18.12. 
  • The top three finishers for the Hawks in the 200-meter race were D'Angelo, who finished in sixth place at 23.67, followed by junior Taishaun Jackson finishing 17th at 24.56, and sophomore Owen Driscoll finishing 25th at 25.23.
  • Senior Andrew Keene claimed first place in the 3000-meter race while setting a personal best of 9:35.54, followed by freshman Billy Oldham finishing in third place at 9:41.07.
Men's Field Events
  • Sophomore Parker Gleckman finished in third place in the long jump with a mark of 6.27 meters, followed by sophomore Luke Halvorsen, who finished in fourth place with a mark of 6.01 meters.
  • Gleckman finished in third place in the triple jump with a mark of 12.89 meters, followed by sophomore Hannington Senfuma in fourth place with a mark of 12.27 meters. 
  • Sophomore Mubeshire Bradshaw tied for second place in the pole vault with a mark of 4.00 meters, followed by sophomore Peter Hogan, who finished in fifth place and set a personal best with a mark of 3.25 meters.
  • Hogan finished in first place in the high jump with a mark of 1.85 meters, followed by freshman Trey Redmond and Senfuma, who tied for second place with marks of 1.80 meters.
  • Sophomore Colin Burns set a program record in the weight throw, finishing in fourth place with a mark of 15.14 meters.
  • Freshman Aidan Ryan finished in first place in the shot put with a mark of 13.97 meters, followed by junior Dylan Paradis who finished in fifth place with a mark of 12.04 meters.
Women's Track Events
  • Senior Cara Morris finished eighth at 20:26.63 in the 5000-meter race, followed by junior Abby Bemis finishing tenth and setting a personal best at 21:04.65. 
  • Sophomore Reese Nicolosi finished in first place and set both a program record and a personal best in the 60-meter hurdles at 9.24.
  • Sophomore Petrina Ofori finished just behind Nicolosi in the 60-meter hurdles at 9.33, setting a personal best. Junior Meredith Pasquarosa rounded out the top three finishers in the 60-meter hurdles for the Hawks, finishing in third place at 9.35. 
  • Junior Rebecca Cady finished in second place in the 60-meter race at 7.93, followed by freshman Sophia Guzman, who finished in fourth at 8.09, and Pasquarosa in fifth at 8.12. 
  • Freshman Tricia Gibbons finished in sixth place in the 1-mile race and set a personal best of 5:54.92.
  • Freshman Brenna Woodbury finished in second place in the 400-meter race at 1:04.15. Rounding out the top three finishers for the Hawks in the 400-meter race was senior Kylie Frank, who finished in seventh at 1:07.04, and freshman Mary Fascione, who finished in 14th at 1:13.81.
  • Cady finished in second place in the 60-meter race at 7.93. Guzman finished in fourth place at 8.09, followed by Pasquarosa in fifth place at 8.12. 
  • Freshman Jill Olson finished in second place in the 800-meter race at 2:31.40. Rounding out the top three finishers for the Hawks were junior Gracie Flynn, who finished in fifth place at 2:34.76, followed by freshman Ava Martin in sixth place at 2:36.28.
  • Guzman was the top finisher for the Hawks, placing fourth in the 200-meter race and setting a personal best of 26.83, followed by sophomore Sam Ducharme, who finished in ninth place at 27.31, and junior Ava Houle, who finished in 12th place at 28.07.
  • Junior Abigail Bernabei claimed first place in the 3000-meter race at 11:56.93, followed by freshman Sayde White at 12:09.53. 
Women's Field Events
  • Freshman Mackenzie Hibbert finished in second place in the long jump with a mark of 5.06 meters, followed by freshman Samantha DiFonte in fourth place with a mark of 5.04 meters. 
  • Junior Ava Houle was the top finisher in the triple jump with a mark of 10.96 meters, followed by Hibbert in second place with a mark of 10.63 meters, and junior Sara Harris in third place with a mark of 10.07 meters.
  • Freshman Alaina Morris set a program record in the pole vault competition, finishing in first place with a mark of 3.20 meters. Sophomore Tija Dilba finished in second place with a mark of 2.45 meters and junior Chloe Lawrence finished in third place.
  • Freshman Makayla Kokonezis and Ofori tied for third place in the high jump, finishing with marks of 1.50 meters.
  • Junior Sophia Morin set a new program record and personal best in the weight throw with a mark of 13.60 meters, followed by senior Brianne Rett, who finished in fourth place with a mark of 13.31 meters, and sophomore Marissa Abbis, who finished in 15th place and set a personal best mark of 9.20 meters.
  • Morin finished in third place and set a personal best in the shot put with a mark of 11.44 meters, followed by Rett, who finished in fourth place and set a season best mark of 11.31 meters.

The Hawks return to action on Saturday, January 24, competing at the Gordon Kelly Invitational hosted by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology at the Johnson Indoor Track.
