WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Saint Anselm College field hockey team, ranked second in the nation, fell to No. 7 West Chester by a final score of 4-2 in a non-conference matchup at Vonnie Gros Field on Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened
West Chester got on the board first 8:45 into the second quarter to give the hosts a 1-0 lead. The Golden Rams' lead was doubled nearly five minutes later to give the hosts a 2-0 advantage.
The Hawks cut the deficit to one five minutes into the second half as freshman Ayla Lagasse finished a feed from senior Marissa Politano, marking her first collegiate strike, while making it 2-1. West Chester took back its two-goal lead with 3:29 to play in the third.
The Golden Rams took a three-goal lead 5:03 into the fourth quarter to pull away from Saint Anselm. The Hawks would find the back of the goal for the final time with 3:09 left in regulation as sophomore Leila Härtl posted her first goal of the season with an assist credited to freshman Breanna Shorey.
