MANSFIELD, Mass. – Sophomore Finn Granara (Reading, Mass.) of the nationally ranked No. 5 Saint Anselm College men's lacrosse team has been named the Northeast-10 Conference (NE10) Goalkeeper of the Week, announced on Monday in the league's sixth weekly award report of the season.
Every save mattered last Friday for Granara, who recorded a season-high 14 saves, including two during the final minute of regulation, in the team's 7-6 overtime victory over Assumption. It marked the sixth win of the season for Granara and the Hawks, and their third in NE10 play.
Granara has been on a tear in the last two games, combining for 22 saves with only eight goals allowed, good for a .733 save percentage. This season, he currently ranks fifth in the NE10 in both saves per game (9.83) and goals against average (7.10).
Granara and the Hawks are gearing up for two games this week, starting on the road at Saint Michael's in Colchester, Vt. on Wednesday, April 2nd at 7:00 p.m. Saint Anselm then returns to the Hilltop for a huge game against No. 2 Adelphi on Saturday, April 5th at 12:00 p.m. from Grappone Stadium.
