Mark Boyle (Reading, Mass.) recorded his first career multi-goal game after scoring twice and dishing out an assist for a career-high three points. The win was the first in the collegiate coaching career of Saint Anselm first-year head coach

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Frostburg State got out to a 2-0 lead midway through the first quarter after goals by Henry Sykes and Wesley Phillips.
- Saint Anselm responded with four unanswered goals to jump in front, 4-2. Turpin and freshman Eddie O'Brien (Franklin, Mass.) opened the scoring for the Hawks with their first collegiate scores.
- Senior Joe Lombardi (Holliston, Mass.) and junior Chris Claflin (Newton, Mass.) also scored during the opening period for the visitors with Claflin picking up two assists as well.
- Tyrin Long finished the quarter with a goal in the final minute for the Bobcats, making it 4-3 entering the second.
- Just over a minute into the second quarter, Turpin added his second goal of the day off a feed from Boyle to put Saint Anselm back in front by a pair.
- 1:25 after that, Sean Mullineaux found the back of the net for Frostburg State to cut the deficit back down to a goal.
- The Hawks started to shift the momentum in their favor with four straight shots on target, but Bobcats goaltender Logan Covey kept his team down by one with some key saves. O'Brien also hit the post for the visitors midway through the second quarter.
- After a few minutes without any scoring, Saint Anselm scored twice in just over two minutes to end the first half with a 7-4 advantage. O'Brien set up Boyle for the sixth Hawks goal, and then senior Will Andrews (Cumberland, R.I.) finished for his first tally of the season off a feed from senior Colin Mulvey (Reading, Mass.).
- The Hawks produced two more goals to begin the third quarter, making it another stretch of four unanswered scores. Boyle sent one past Covey for his second of the game before Turpin secured his first collegiate hat trick off another assist from Mulvey as Saint Anselm extended its lead to 9-4.
- JT Calhoun got the Bobcats back on the scoreboard for the first time in over 24 minutes of game time late in the third quarter, and Mullineaux started the fourth with his second goal to trim the Hawks lead back down to three.
- Saint Anselm added another two goals in the final period of play. Turpin notched his fourth of the afternoon and Mulvey collected his first of the season as the lead increased to 11-6 for the Hawks.
- Mullineaux completed his hat trick with a consolation goal for Frostburg State in the final two minutes, but Saint Anselm remained in full control and picked up the road victory by a final score of 11-7.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Saint Anselm nearly doubled up Frostburg State in total shots, 54-28, and shots on goal, 30-16. The Hawks recorded 20 of their 30 shots on target in the first half.
- The Hawks held a 13-9 advantage at the faceoff X. Junior Quinn Gannon (Scitutate, Mass.) led the visitors by going 11 for 18 (61.1 percent) on faceoffs.
- Saint Anselm maintained a 36-30 lead in the ground ball battle as well. Gannon led all players with a game-high seven ground balls, while freshman Johnny Lucas (Peabody, Mass.) scooped up six ground balls for the Hawks.
- Frostburg State committed 19 turnovers in the game, while Saint Anselm had 14 giveaways.
- The Hawks defense caused nine of those turnovers, while the Bobcats defense forced 11 turnovers. Four different student-athletes tallied two caused turnovers on the afternoon for the Hawks.
- Saint Anselm went 22 for 25 on clear attempts (88.0 percent) compared to Frostburg State's 18 successful clears out of 22 attempts (81.8 percent).
- The game featured six penalties with the two teams earning three apiece. Both sides went 0-3 on extra man opportunities.
- Turpin led Saint Anselm with four goals in his collegiate debut. O'Brien also scored his first career goal to go along with an assist for the Hawks, while freshman Matt Lemay (Westminster, Mass.) picked up his first collegiate helper.
- Boyle, Claflin, and Mulvey all had three-point games for Saint Anselm with Boyle registering his first career multi-goal and multi-point game. Andrews, Lombardi, and O'Brien all finished with two points coming from a goal and an assist.
- Mullineaux recorded a game-high five points on three goals and two assists for Frostburg State. Four other players scored in the game for the Bobcats.
- Sophomore goaltender Finn Granara (Reading, Mass.) made nine saves and posted a .563 save percentage in his fifth career win between the pipes for the Hawks. Covey made 19 saves and allowed all 11 goals in the cage for the Bobcats to earn the loss.
- First-year head coach Drew Bourdeau '18 earned his first career coaching victory in the collegiate ranks for Saint Anselm.
- This marked the first all-time meeting between these two programs.
