HOW IT HAPPENED:
	- Saint Anselm would score the first bucket of the first quarter but would struggle from the floor in the entirety of the quarter. Halfway through the first period of action the Chargers would maintain a 8-5 lead over the home team after a made pull up jump shot from Nayeli Dowding. The New Haven squad would score one more basket in the opening 10 minutes, while the Saint Anselm squad would grab no score.

	- The Hawks would find more momentum in the second quarter as senior Melanie Hoyt (Stamford, N.Y.) would connect on her first bucket from teammate Anna Nelson (Gorham, Maine). The Hawks would keep their scoring going with Tatum Forbes (Pawtucket, R.I.) and Nelson tallying back-to-back buckets giving the team a 13-10 lead. Saint Anselm would see their lead extend to eight after Hoyt scored her sixth point of the evening. Just past halfway through the quarter the Hawks exploded to a 12-point lead behind strong shooting from the back court pair of Nelson and Forbes. The Chargers would look to get back into the game with a trip to the charity stripe from graduate transfer Paige Cote, but Saint Anselm would hold a 29-20 advantage going into halftime.

	- The Hawks continued to impress in the third quarter as Elise MacNair (Old Orchard Beach, Maine) would connect on a fast paced pull up jumper and Forbes would follow with a make of her own. Saint Anselm extended their lead to 17 with a pair of free throws from Forbes before the Chargers could find their footing. Halfway through the quarter Cote would score five consecutive points but Nelson had an answer for the Hawks grabbing her second triple of the match. Saint Anselm would end the quarter with a 43-29 lead going into the final 10-minutes.

	- New Haven would bring the game within 16 to open the final 10-minutes of play with another strong jumper from Dowding. Saint Anselm would have a response from Forbes who continued to be the spark plug for the Hawks. As the defensive presence would increase for the Hawks their lead would extend further and further. Halfway through the quarter a driving layup from senior Katie Lemanski (Haymarket, Va.) would put the Saint Anselm squad up 57-31. One last big bucket would fall for the Hawks as senior Marta Pons Gomez (Sevilla, Spain) cashed in from deep with a shot clock buzzer beater.
