  • The second inning of action kicked off scoring with the Owls capitalizing in the top of the inning off of a walk and strong swing sending a long ball over the wall for a two-run home run. Saint Anselm would escape the innings allowing just two runs and would be unable to respond in the bottom frame. • Saint Anselm saw their first runners cross home plate in the bottom half of the third inning as graduate student Aidan Dow (Lynn, Mass.) would be hit by a pitch and advance around the horn from a Austin Brune (Billerica, Mass.) single and an error from the Owls. In the same sequence of actions Brune would also cross home plate on an unearned run putting the game sitting at 3-2 in favor of the Owls.
  • In the bottom of the 4th inning the Hawks earned their first lead of the game after falling down 2 outs. Freshman Coleson Kaluza (Ottaw, Ontario) grabbed the first base runner slot with a walk. Queue in Brendan Harris (Altamont, N.Y.), who would rip a long fly ball for a two-run shot.
  • Southern Connecticut St. responded in the top of the fifth with a lead off walk setting the tying run on base. After ground out to second, Dillion would slip a single past the infield allowing Pelletier to round the bases and tie the game at 4 runs each. The Hawks came alive in the bottom of the inning beginning with a Brune walk. Freshman Jackson Powers (Woburn, Mass.) stepped up into the batters box and delivered to push Brune into scoring position. The Owls would go on to load the bases for Saint Anselm on a big walk on pitches. The trouble would continue for Southern Connecticut St. as they would hit pit-hitter Owen McCarron (Holliston, Mass.) pushing the winning run across the plate. Sophomore Brendan Gonzalez's (Mechanicville, N.Y.) bat would connect for a single to push two more runs in for Saint Anselm giving them the final 7-4 lead. After the conclusion of the fifth inning the game would be called final due to rain.
