How it Happened
Franklin Pierce scored in the sixth minute on a header from Guillermo Avendano that floated over the outstretched arm of Hood and into the back of the net off a pass from Julen Martin deep into the Hawks' attacking zone.
Both Avendano and Martin put shots on goal in the sixth and 18th minutes, with Hood making a pair of saves to keep the Hawks within one.
Hood was bested in the 22nd minute on a goal by Guillermo Rios, who was unguarded in the middle of the 18-yard box before blasting a right-footed shot into the back of the net to put the Ravens ahead 2-0.
The Hawks answered in the 25th minute when a strong attack by McCabe resulted in a handball in the box by the Ravens, setting up McCabe for the penalty kick, which he converted to the bottom right corner of the net to make the score 2-1.
The Ravens scored their third goal of the match with just over a minute left in the first half as a corner kick from Joao Araujo found Stepan Fiker for a header that snuck past Hood to increase their lead back to two goals.
Franklin Pierce recorded five shots on goal while Saint Anselm had four shots on target in the second half, but Hood and his counterpart, David Skorodumov, kept the offenses at bay as the final score stood at 3-1 in favor of the Ravens.
