Frano's Dominant Week Earns her NE10 Player of the Week Nod

NORTH ATTLEBORO, MASS. – Junior outside hitter Hollyn Frano of the Saint Anselm College women's volleyball team was named the Northeast 10 Conference Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
 
In a 1-1 week of NE10 play for the Hawks, Frano dominated in Tuesday's 3-0 win over Southern New Hampshire, recording 21 kills with just three errors on an eye-popping .514 attack percentage.
 
Her 21 kills in the win tied a program record that had been achieved just twice before, tying Marissa Caron, who reached the mark first in 2003, followed by Lauren Casey, who matched the record in 2021. Her .514 attack percentage marked a new career-high as well.
 
Frano recorded 20+ kills for the fourth time in her career, with Tuesday's instance being the first of the season. She recorded 21 of the Hawks' 44 kills, which was the most kills by Saint Anselm as a team in a three-set match this season. 21 kills is also the most by any NE10 student-athlete in a three-set match since 2021.
 
In Friday night's four-set loss at Southern Connecticut State, Frano posted 10 kills at a .280 clip, also pitching in seven digs on the defensive end. Overall, Frano recorded 31 kills, a .417 attack percentage, and 12 digs this week.
 
Frano earns her second NE10 Player of the Week honor of her career, her first since 2023. Frano currently leads the Hawks in kills (225) and points (256), while being fourth on the team in digs (156). She becomes the first Hawk this season to earn the NE10's Player of the Week nod.
 
Saint Anselm finished its regular season at SCSU on Friday, going 12-12 on the year with a 4-5 record in NE10 play. The Hawks also went 8-3 on their home court of Stoutenburgh Gym, earning the No. 6 seed in the NE10 Championship Tournament.
 
Frano and the No. 6-seeded Hawks open tournament play tomorrow night at 6 p.m., taking on the No. 3-seeded American International College at Henry A. Butova Gymnasium in Springfield, Mass.
