BALTIMORE, Md. – The Saint Anselm College women's bowling team secured three victories on the opening day of the CSU Lady Eagles Invitational, hosted by Coppin State University, at Woodlawn Lanes on Saturday afternoon.
How it Happened
The Hawks began the day with a Traditional match against Belmont Abbey College, falling 823-974.
Saint Anselm bounced back in its second match, earning its first win of the weekend with a commanding 845-677 victory over Bowie State University.
The Hawks' momentum continued as Saint Anselm defeated St. Thomas College, 805-527.
In the final two Traditional matches of the day, Saint Anselm split the results, dropping a 775-971 decision to Mount St. Mary's (Md.), 775-971, before closing strong with a 780-602 win over Chestnut Hill.
Sophomore
Katy McNemar led the way for the Hawks, finishing 16th out of 95 bowlers in the individual standings and posting the highest average score with a 176.80.
Sophomore
Ashlee Hess finished 19th in the individual standings and posted an average score of 171.40 across five matches. Finishing just behind Hess was junior
Callie Goulet, who finished 27th in the individual standings and earned an average score of 164.60.
Freshman
Dannesia Lawrence earned 31st in the standings with a 155.20 average score, finishing just ahead of teammate freshman
Charlee Gallione who came in at 40th with an average score of 139.40.
