Frano Dominates in Volleyball’s Senior Day Sweep Against SNHU

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Junior Hollyn Frano tied the program record for kills in a three-set match as the Saint Anselm College women's volleyball team defeated Southern New Hampshire University, 3-0, at Stoutenburgh Gymnasium in a Northeast 10 Conference matchup on Tuesday.

Saint Anselm 3, Southern New Hampshire 0 (25-14, 25-13, 25-17)

Highlights
  • Frano recorded 21 kills with just three errors on an eye-popping .514 attack percentage, tying the program record that has been done just twice before. Frano ties Marissa Caron, who reached the mark first in 2003, followed by Lauren Casey, who matched the record in 2021.
  • Frano recorded her fourth match with 20+ kills in her career, this being her first of the season. She recorded 21 of the Hawks' 44 kills, the most by Saint Anselm in a three-set match this season.
  • The Hawks' combined attacking percentage of .330 is a season high mark, and their 41 assists mark the most in a three-set match in 2025. Saint Anselm also recorded a season-low three reception errors in the win.
  • Saint Anselm is now 8-3 at home while improving to 4-4 in NE10 play. The Hawks improve to 33-35 all-time against Southern New Hampshire, marking their second win over the Penmen this season.
  • Freshman Peyton Elward had an excellent night on the offensive end, recording eight kills without an attacking error for a hitting percentage of .421. Elward also notched three service aces and a block assist.
  • Junior Madeline Burke led the team with 14 digs, and freshman Mckenna O'Connell tallied a match-high 33 assists without any setting errors.
  • Senior Annabelle Stabach made her season debut, recording three kills, a service ace, and two digs, all career-highs for the Hawks' captain. Classmate Skylar Ryan had three digs and an ace as the duo was honored pregame as part of senior night.
How it Happened

SET 1 | The first set began as a back-and-forth battle between the cross-town rivals, but the floodgates opened as the Hawks put together a 10-1 run, started by a Stabach kill, and was highlighted by four straight kills from Frano to make the score 19-11. Three kills from freshman Etta Rocco put the set away as Saint Anselm won, 25-14.

SET 2 | Aces from Ryan and Stabach and three kills from Elward early in the second got things rolling for the Hawks' offense as they led 9-5. The latter half of the set belonged to Frano as she dominated with seven kills during a 10-1 run that gave the Hawks another set win, 25-13.

SET 3 | Stabach opened the third with a kill, and Saint Anselm took a 6-3 advantage, but the Penmen rallied with eight of the next nine scores to build a four-point lead, 11-7. The Hawks continued to chip away, and after five errors by Southern New Hampshire, Saint Anselm had regained the lead, 15-14. The Hawks controlled the set the rest of the way, and the final five points of the match went to Saint Anselm, capped off by Frano's record-tying kill to seal the victory, 25-17.
