MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College women's ice hockey team earned a 3-1 win over Sacred Heart in New England Women's Hockey Alliance action on Saturday afternoon at Sullivan Arena, securing a weekend sweep.

- Freshman Grace Littler posted the eventual game-winning goal 7:21 into the second period, scoring on the powerplay. Sophomores Lucy DeCoteau and Kismet Dogan also scored for the Hawks.

How it Happened
Freshman goaltender Kayla Czukoski made 10 saves in the opening period as neither team was able to score.
Saint Anselm outshot Sacred Heart, 15-8, in the second period as the Hawks took a 2-0 lead into the second intermission. Sophomore Kismet Dogan recorded a short-handed goal, scoring 1:59 into the period. Just 6:22 later, the Hawks' lead was doubled as freshman Grace Littler buried a rebound to make it 2-0.
Sacred Heart cut its deficit to one 7:15 into the third period as Peyton Bennetts went coast-to-coast and burying her own rebound to make it 2-1 with 12:45 to play.
The Hawks responded 4:21 later as sophomore Lucy DeCoteau tipped in a shot by freshman Avery Wilson into the top right corner to regain their two-goal lead.
The Pioneers pulled their goalie in favor of the extra skater for 4:31 of the final five minutes of regulation, including a stint of 6-on-4 action, in an attempt at a comeback, but Czukoski made two saves in that span to secure the sweep for Saint Anselm.

The Hawks (5-5-0, 5-1-0 NEWHA) will press pause on its NEWHA schedule for a non-conference clash with Yale University (4-2-0, 2-2-20 ECAC) on Tuesday, Nov. 4. Puck drop is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at Sullivan Arena.
