MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College men's ice hockey team was defeated in its season opener by non-conference opponent Keene State College, dropping the contest by a 2-1 final on Friday night at Sullivan Arena

How it Happened
Senior captain Luke Linart found the back of the net 3:31 into the opening period with a power play goal, with assisted credited to classmates Garrett Alberti and Cam Collins, to make it 1-0 in favor of Saint Anselm.
The Keene State duo of freshman Zack Chouinard and Sean Gray connected for the game-tying and eventual game-winning goals in the second and third periods.
Chouinard recorded his first collegiate goal with 3:02 left in the second period on a 2-on-1 opportunity assisted by Gray before Gray scored 5:59 into the third with the helper coming from Chouinard.
The Hawks threatened late in the third, hitting the post twice in the final 7:56, but were unable to break through and extend the game.

Saint Anselm (0-1-0, 0-0-0 NE10) will travel to Gorham, Maine for a non-conference slash against the University of Southern Maine (0-1-0, 0-0-0 LEC) on Saturday night. Puck drop from USM Ice Arena is slated for 6:00 p.m.
