STRUTHERS, Ohio – The Saint Anselm women's bowling team competed in the second day of the Chelsea Gilliam Penguin Classic, squaring off with five traditional matches on Saturday.
How It Happened
The Hawks opened the second day with a commanding victory against Walsh University (Ohio), extending their winning streak against the Cavaliers, 983-826.
Saint Anselm then faced Vanderbilt University, where the Hawks fell 848-1032, followed by a loss to Sacred Heart University, 747-887.
The Hawks bounced back securing the victory over Coppin State University, 960-859. The final match of the day for Saint Anselm came in a narrow loss to Alabama A&M University, 814-849.
Sophomore
Ashlee Hess led the way for the Hawks finishing 33rd out of 136 bowlers in the individual standings and posted the highest average score with a 194.40 across five matches.
Finishing just behind Hess was junior
Callie Goulet who finished 35th in the individual standings and posted an average score of 188.80.
Rounding out the top three finishers for the Hawks was sophomore
Katy McNemar who finished 51st in the individual standings and posted an average score of 174.60.
