ORONO, Maine – The Saint Anselm College women's ice hockey team fell to the University of Maine (1-4-0, 0-0-0 HEA) in a non-conference contest at the Harold Alfond Sports Arena on Friday afternoon by a final score of 3-0.

How it Happened
Maine got on the board 6:39 into the opening frame as Stephanie Jacob finished a cross-crease feed from Mackenzie Podewell to give the hosts a 1-0 lead.
Early in the second period, the Black Bears doubled their lead as Paige Fong crept in from the point and fired in a wrist shot from the top of the left circle to make it 2-0.
The Black Bears made it a three-goal advantage midway through the third period as Isabella Michaud scored from the slot to put the game on ice.

The Hawks (2-2-0, 2-0-0 NEWHA) will return to home ice on Saturday, Oct. 11 for a NEWHA clash against Stonehill College (0-2-0, 0-0-0 NEWHA). The opening faceoff is slated for 3:00 p.m. at Sullivan Arena.
