COLONIA, N.J. – Freshman
Kenzie Davis (Barrington, N.H.) of the Saint Anselm College women's bowling team has been named the East Coast Conference (ECC) Rookie of the Week for the first time in her career, the league announced on Thursday.
Davis competed for the Hawks at last weekend's New England Cup hosted by Bryant, the first tournament of the new year for Saint Anselm. At the event, Davis averaged 177.7 during team play. She earned strikes on 36.7 percent of her attempts and finished the day with games of 193 and 189. The freshman boasted an impressive 9.5 first ball average with a 19.67 frame average to go along with a 60 percent strike rate in those games. Davis double struck all available frames and also set up the 10th frame cleanly every time.
Freshman
Katy McNemar (Chambersburg, Pa.) joined her teammate by earning a spot on the ECC Weekly Honor Roll. McNemar led Saint Anselm with a team-best 197.3 average, good for sixth overall during team play. She earned strikes on 60 percent of her frames and bowled a score of 256 in the first game. During baker play, McNemar also struck 60 percent of her frames, doubled 83 percent of her available attempts, and posted a 23.8 10th frame average.
Davis, McNemar, and the Hawks are back in action on Friday, February 7th at the Mount Shootout in Mount Joy, Pa.
