Garbo and Conley Grab Wins as Hawks Fall to SNHU 5-2

MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College women's tennis team saw their winning streak come to an end on Wednesday as the squad dropped their Northeast-10 Conference matchup against cross-town Southern New Hampshire by a 5-2 final. 
 

 UP NEXT:
  • The Hawks will host conference opponent New Haven on Saturday, September 21st with a 1:00 p.m. start time.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Saint Anselm began the match down after falling in all three doubles contests to Southern New Hampshire.
  • The Hawks found some success with two wins in singles action. Picking up one of those wins was junior Irene Garbo (Sardinia, Italy), who swept Haven Justina 6-4, 6-4 in the No. 1 slot.
  • Freshman Alyssa Conley (Windham, Maine) secured the only other victory for the Hawks at her No. 6 slot with a straight-set win, 6-4, 6-2.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Garbo picked up her fifth singles win and moved to 5-0 on the season.
