ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY – The Hawks split results in the Caldwell Trimatch on Friday with Saint Anselm winning their first match over the home team and falling in five sets to Molloy in their second matchup of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED (vs. Caldwell 25-19, 25-6, 25-20 final)
- Saint Anselm showcased a balanced attack with significant contributions from multiple players. Hollyn Frano (Cave Creek, Ariz.) led the team with 11 kills and a .318 hitting percentage. Taylor Lacerda (Franklin, Mass.) also had a strong performance, recording 6 kills and 11 points. Miia Dembski (Buffalo, N.Y.) and Sam Pila (Melbourne, Austrailia) added valuable contributions as well, with 6 kills each. The team's overall hitting percentage was .260.
- Caldwell struggled throughout the match, finishing with a hitting percentage of just .052. Wyette Schubert-Brown was the standout for the Cougars with 9 kills and 11 points. Caldwell's defense was unable to contain the Hawks offensive barrage, and the team only managed 15 kills and 26 total points.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- On the defensive end, Saint Anselm recorded 49 digs and a total of 7 blocks. The team's efficient serving included 12 aces, contributing to their control throughout the match.
- Lacerda led the overall attack tabbing six kills, five service aces and six digs.

HOW IT HAPPENED (vs. Molloy 21-25, 25-17, 9-25, 25-18, 11-15 final.)
- In the first set Molloy took an early advantage over the Hawks and continued to hold that advantage throughout the set. Lacerda and Frano would combine for kills to keep the Hawks close throughout the middle of the set. Melis Kocak (East Greenwich, R.I.) would join the kill club getting the Hawks within three, 13-16. A pair of service aces from Molloy's Aria Miller would control the tempo ending the set in favor of the Lions.
- The second set began with the Lions taking another early lead, but Saint Anselm would respond from a Lacerda kill, shortly followed by a pair of kills from Frano and Dembski. Frano would continue her top-notch play tabbing two quick aces accompanied by another kill. After earning a 10-5 lead the Hawks would not look back. Frano's aggressive serving and net play would pace the Hawks to their 25-17 set victory.
- The Lions would dominate the third set leaving little breathing room for Saint Anselm as they struggled to convert. Molloy would maintain control through a series of kills and service aces from Alex Brown bringing them to a 25-9 victory.
- The fourth set began with early exchanges between the two squads. Mollow began the set with a slight advantage before Lacerda and Hannah Storm (Swansea, Mass.) would tab a pair of kills. As the set progressed Saint Anselm gained momentum with key plays involving a series of kills from Frano and Pila coupled with impressive service points from Lacerda. The Hawks would make a final push to bring the match to five sets with critical kills from Lacerda.
- The fifth set continued to show the competitive nature of the two teams both exchanging points and the lead. The Lions effective blocking from Sara Hiebert and Kiarra Roth would pull the tide in favor of Molloy nearing the end of the set. Pila would register a late ace, but Molloy would hang on for the 15-11 victory.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Frano lead the offensive attack with 16 kills, five service aces, and two digs. While Madeline Burke (Lake George, N.Y.) held down the court defensively tabbing 28 digs.
- As a team the Hawks grabbed 40 kills, ten service aces, and 82 digs.
