MANCHESTER, N.H. - Four members of the nationally-ranked Saint Anselm College men's lacrosse team have been selected to Division II Preseason All-America rosters ahead of the 2024 season. The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA),
USA Lacrosse Magazine, and Inside Lacrosse (a lacrosse media entity and ESPN affiliate) all announced their Preseason All-America teams this week.
Graduate student
Ryan Slattery (North Andover, Mass.), fifth-year
Jack Andrews (Cumberland, R.I.), and seniorsÂ
Nick Larsen (Northborough, Mass.), andÂ
Noah Larsen (Northborugh, Mass.) were all named Preseason All-Americans by multiple entities.
USILA named Slattery and
Nick Larsen to the Preseason All-America First Team, while
Noah Larsen was named to the Second Team.
USA Lacrosse Magazine also selected Slattery as a First Team member, while
Nick Larsen was a Second Team pick and Andrews was selected as an Honorable Mention. Inside Lacrosse had all four aforementioned Hawks included on their rosters, with Slattery on the First Team,
Nick Larsen on the Second Team, and
Noah Larsen and Andrews on the Third Team.
Slattery becomes a three-time Preseason All-America selection for the third straight season. The defenseman also earned Preseason All-America recognition from USILA,Â
USA Lacrosse Magazine and Inside Lacrosse the past two years. Slattery's decorated career includes being a two-time Northeast-10 Conference Defensive Player of the Year and multi-time All-Conference pick as well. The Hawks team captain started in all 14 games he appeared in last season, causing 18 turnovers and scooping up 31 ground balls (most on the team).
A two-time USILA All-American,
Nick Larsen becomes a USILAÂ and
USA Lacrosse Magazine Preseason All-American for the first time in his career. The midfielder, who was a Preseason All-America Honorable Mention selection by Inside Lacrosse last year, is also a two-time NE10 All-Conference selection and is coming off a 23-point season a year ago. The senior posted 11 goals and 12 assists while collecting 16 ground balls in 14 games played.
Noah Larsen also earns Preseason All-America honors from USILA for the first time in his career. The senior becomes a two-time Preseason All-America pick by Inside Lacrosse, having been an Honorable Mention selection last year. The team's leader in assists in 2023 with 19, Larsen added 22 goals last year across 15 starts, which were all career-highs. A first team NE10 All-Conference selection last season, the attacker finished second on the team with 41 points and tallied at least a point in all but one game.
Andrews receives Preseason All-America honors from
USA Lacrosse Magazine and Inside Lacrosse for the second time each. The fifth-year midfielder returns for his final season after posting back-to-back 40-goal campaigns. In 2023, Andrews led the team and was sixth in the conference in goals with 41.
Saint Anselm is set to open its season at home against Molloy University on Saturday, February 24th in non-conference play.
