Men's Soccer Falls to Roberts Wesleyan on Senior Day

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Fifth-year senior Zach Verow (Bedford, N.H.) scored his first goal of the season, but the Saint Anselm College men's soccer team fell to Roberts Wesleyan in their non-conference and home finale on Saturday afternoon by a final score of 3-1. The loss snaps a six-game unbeaten streak for the Hawks.

Prior to the match, 14 Saint Anselm student-athletes were honored in a pregame ceremony for Senior Day. Seniors Andy Kimerling (Scottsdale, Ariz.), James Poschmann (Bedford, N.H.), Andrew Kubinski (Norton, Mass.), Michael Provenzano (Stratham, N.H.), Caden Leader (Durham, N.H.), Samuel Assantha (Bukavu, Democratic Republic of the Congo), Lucas Bravo Ollé (Sitges, Barcelona, Spain), Jonas Walter (Marburg, Germany), Nathan Verow (Bedford, N.H.), Jack O'Brien (Norton, Mass.), Rosendo Lopez (Merrimack, N.H.), Aiden Lehane (Assonet, Mass.), Vitor Rodrigues (Rondon do Pará, Brazil), and Matthew Flanagan (Bedford, N.H.) were each recognized for their commitment and efforts on and off the field over the past four seasons on the Hilltop. Together, they have helped the men's soccer program win 25 games and earn seven ties. The senior class also helped the program clinch its first Northeast-10 Conference Tournament berth since 2009, where they advanced to the Semifinals after their first postseason win in 14 years.
