Women's Tennis Falls to Franklin Pierce on Senior Day

MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Anselm College women's tennis team dropped their final match of the regular season on Saturday to Franklin Pierce by a final score of 7-0.

Prior to the matches, seniors Erin Motherway (Stonington, Conn.), Abigail Svor (Lewiston, Maine), and Julia Svor (Lewiston, Maine) were celebrated in pregame festivities as part of Senior Day.
 


HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Hawks began the match behind after losing all three doubles to the Ravens.
  • In singles action, the top four slots all went into a third set tiebreaker, but Saint Anselm was unable to pick up a victory in any of the four matches.
 


INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Junior Irene Garbo (Sardinia, Italy) led Saint Anselm this season with a dominant 10-1 record at No. 1 singles.
  • Junior Natalia Gonzalez Ramos (Guadalajara, Spain) finished with a 6-5 record this fall at No. 3 singles, while junior Camila Heredia Osante (Oaxaca, Mexico) posted a 5-5 mark at No. 4 singles.
  • Heredia Osante and junior Julie Börschig (Stuttgart, Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany) each grabbed seven wins in doubles on the season.
  • The Hawks finished the year 4-7 overall with a 2-6 record in NE10 play.
