NEW CASTLE, Del. – The Saint Anselm College women's bowling team picked up a pair of wins on the opening day of the Bud Whitman Memorial on Saturday afternoon. The Hawks posted a record of 2-2 on what was their first day of competition for the 2024-25 season.

The two Saint Anselm victories came against Holy Family and Caldwell. The Hawks were bested by Dominican and Long Island (LIU). In their matchup with Caldwell, Saint Anselm posted a team record of 949 points. Freshman Katy McNemar (Chambersburg, Pa.) bowled a team-best 225, while senior Madison Gentes (Bedford, N.H.) bowled a 208. Sophomore Callie Goulet (Bellingham, Mass.) posted the highest average score across the first day of action with a 175.

"Today was a good start and a day where all six bowlers contributed immensely throughout the day," noted third-year head coach Tim Frye '11. "Improvements still to be made, but this was an excellent start to our season."
